Banking and shopping
Banking and shopping have change a lot in time, home banking started in the middle of the 1970s and the reason was to reduce bank-office check processing costs through bill payment by touch-tone telephone. The first home banking system offered consumers the ability to pay anyone at any time of the day and used voice response technology to minimize personnel costs.
Videotex was a two way message service and started in 1979 by Michael Aldrich. Concept of teleshopping was the idea and today we call it online shopping. So this was how it all started, businesses were interested in this and they started using the new technology.
In 1982 Minitel succeeded to start with Videotext as an online service, and making online purchases, you could also check the share market, search the telephone directory and could even chat to other people. This was one of the most successful services before WWW came using telephone lines.
Banking and shopping have change a lot over time, in 1950 you were not able to transfer money from home, as we can today. You had to go to the bank and do your bank businesses there. Today you can use a computer to transfer money from your bank account to another bank account, and we can do it from home so we save a lot of time and money.
Right now on the 2012-11-19 I am able to buy almost everything just by using a computer and an Internet connection. There are sites on the internet now that you can use to order things online on. So many people are changing from going to stores, to order the the things online that they want. The reasons is because you save time and money on it. This can lead to that lany stores can be closed down just because of that so many people in this time are buying the things online instead of going to the stores.. fifty years ago when we humans had not yet invented the internet as we know it or computers the best way to buy a sofa was to go to the store; the store had the best chance of getting you what you wanted. What you could do in some stores if they were able to transport your sofa to the place that you wanted. Another method that you might used fifty years ago was that you could ask a friend to go and buy the sofa but then you can’t be sure that he/she gets the right one for you.

My own life experience.
It was in 1995 the online banking service started , online banking allows clients of banks to access their account online, view their balance, check the history of their account, pay bills, transfer funds. What this meant to the people that had bank accounts and had a computer at that time was that they saved time, effort, gas, parking fees and it lets you avoid traffic rush hours. So before 1995 you were not able to do these things as they could and had to go all the way to the bank to do bank business.
My father says that he does almost all his bank business online, the only time he goes to the bank is when example he took a loan at a time or when he was fixing so I got a bank card to use. He is transferring money from his accounts to other accounts and so on. I also have an account in Sweden and I have always done my banking transfers online and not in the bank.
My father says that he does almost all his bank business online, the only time he goes to the bank is when he takes a loan out or when he fixes a bank card to me. Other business that he is doing online is transferring money from his accounts to other accounts. I also have an account in Sweden and I have always done my banking transfers online and not in the bank. I do my banking business online just because of that in Sweden I live far away from our bank, so I save time and money to do it at home. And it is much easier to do it online if you know how to it, then going to the bank. So I think that now when we all can use internet and do so many things from home that we could not so 10 years ago have changed me and my father’s life. And I think I have changed most people’s lives.
